Hissin' Pete is a small, meek spirit who lives in the Corner Store alongside PJ and Lefty in Paranatural.
Appearance[]
Pete is a short, reddish-orange spirit with an oval-shaped body and spindly arms and legs. Sprouting from the top of his head is a long, straight appendage branching into multiple offshoots with yellow ends. He has wide, circular eyes; a long, sharp nose; and a wide mouth.
Personality[]
Pete has been shown to be easily frightened, loudly hissing when scared and attaching himself to others in close vicinity such as PJ. On the rare occasion where he is not frightened, Pete can be seen lying face-down on the floor, seemingly content.[1]
Paranatural[]
Chapter 1[]
During Max Puckett's first night at the Corner Store, he hears a strange hissing noise coming from his bedroom, causing him to hesitate before working the nerve up to enter. After Max enters the room and picks up his phone, Pete's silhouette can be seen huddled in the background. After Max lies down in bed, Pete begins hissing once more as PJ crawls on top of Max's bed.
Chapter 2[]
The next night, after PJ formally introduces himself and Lefty to him, Max asks him about the strange hissing noise he had heard, prompting Lefty to introduce him to Hissin' Pete. As they continue to talk Pete begins hissing loudly at the floor, tipping the three off to Gorf's presence.
Chapter 3[]
The next morning, Pete can be seen sitting alongside Lefty as they watch Max hold up his baseball bat upon discovering his powers.
Chapter 4[]
As Max plays Monopoly with his father and sister, PJ rises through the floor with Hissin' Pete wrapped around his head to alert him about the trio of shoplifting delinquents downstairs. After Max makes them leave, Pete can be seen lying face-down on the floor.
Chapter 7[]
In one of Mr. Spender's flashbacks, Hissin' Pete had been brought down to the lower floor of the Corner Store by PJ. He can be seen snuggled under PJ's pajamas and lightly hissing as the ghost talks to Sockpuppy.
Abilities[]
Danger Perception[]
Hissin' Pete has the ability to sense potential threats to his safety around him, even through separate floors. If he believes himself to be in danger, he proceeds to hiss loudly, with his volume appearing to increase depending on the threat level.
