Damien Day is an old friend of Max Puckett's, and the younger brother of Valerie Day. He appears in Chapter 4 during Max's dream about his deceased mother, Mrs. Puckett.

When Max was seven years old[1], he and Damien used to be close friends.

Chapter 4[]
After being knocked out upon falling out of the Ghost Train, Max has a dream where he asks his mother for permission to go skating at the Hole Pit with Damien, his twin sister Sam, and their babysitter. While Mrs. Puckett pays the babysitter, Damien chants Max's name in excitement.
Chapter 8[]
After visiting Doctor-Director Jones, Max texts Damien and Sam a photo of his new cast, and considers how far he can involve them in the paranatural world, especially given the possibility of his sister Val finding out and interfering with his search for his mother's ghost. Damien texts back that the three are now cast "triplets" after "a secret handshake R&D catastrophe" left his hand in a cast too[2].
