Chapter 1

During his first day at Mayview Middle School, Suzy asks Max where his family moved from. After replying that he used to live in Baxborough, Suzy acts impressed that he comes from "the big city".

Chapter 4

Before leaving to meet Mr. Spender at Mayview's barrier, Max asks his father whether they could make a visit to Baxborough soon, and Mr. Puckett responds that he'll see when he can make plans.

Chapter 5

The next morning, Max wakes up to find his father grinding eggshells in the laundry room. Mr. Puckett tells Max that he's arranged for a trip to Baxborough over the weekend. Knowing that he can't exit the town due to the Ghost Train being out of commission, Max nervously refuses his offer and leaves to go shower.

Later on, after Alex asks Max how he learned to do stunts in the School Store, Max replies that he used to replicate tricks he saw on a television show, Shred Eagle Extreme, with his friends in "much more dangerous places".
